“You don’t need to do this. There’s a better way.“
During these riots, there are lives lost that remain faceless and nameless to most of us. But I want you to know about Chris Beaty. Before these riots, I had no idea who he was. He’s a friend of a very dear friend and as I’ve come to learn, a friend to Indianapolis. As a matter of fact, his nickname was Mr. Indianapolis. He was also a defensive lineman on the Indiana University football team. Chris was murdered in cold blood during the riots. He was killed by thieves on a robbing spree outside of his apartment in Indianapolis. These killers were attempting to rob 2 women. He heard the commotion from his apartment and ran down to try to stop them. Right before these cowards fired, he let out his last words. “You don’t need to do this. There’s a better way."
We need to listen to his dying words. -“You don’t need to do this. There’s a better way.“ -Let’s find a better way. Together.
